Tivoli Jardim
Budget- One of Lisbon's pretty average hotels the Tivoli Jardim is located behind the five-star Tivoli Lisboa, this sister hotel offers simpler surroundings at a cheaper rate. Set back from the busy Avenida, the mood is considerably less hectic than other hotels in the area. An unsightly car park obscures the entrance, but noise is never a problem.
Admittedly the rooms are disappointingly mediocre - think four-star motorway motel - but all modern facilities are provided. The hotel's key redeeming feature is a large outdoor swimming pool and sheltered garden space shared with the Tivoli Lisboa.
It's a great place to soak up some sun in between serious shopping trips. Thankfully the Jardim seems to have escaped the coach-loads of tour groups who descend on its sister premises. Instead, quiet couples and small groups drift through the remarkably pleasant but underused bar area. -
