Lisbon's most amazing design hotel in terms of location and style, this city-centre hotel blows all competition out of the water. It can be reached via an entrance at the bottom of fashionable Rua Garrett and shares a building with the neighbouring shopping centre.
Designed by the same architect who was also responsible for the Carlton Pestana Palace, the décor is inspired by the Orient, with a flush of warm and tranquil colours; nothing is overstated. Rooms are remarkably bright and instantly relaxing; those on the 7th floor also have a private veranda overlooking the Baixa.
Specially selected flowers, chosen to reflect the hotel's colour scheme, blossom on the rooftop. Embroidered silk cushions are scattered throughout the bar and an elegant rectangular window extends into the upstairs restaurant, flooding the building with light. Unsurprisingly, the hotel is popular with a style-savvy and trendsetting elite.
